Quick replies: saved responses

Last updated: 16 July 2026

Quick replies are reusable message snippets your team saves in one library per workspace, each with a shortcut, a title, and a body. Insert one into any conversation by typing "/" in the composer, or by choosing "Quick replies" from the "+" menu. Selecting a reply fills the draft, it never sends the message for you.

How do I create a quick reply?

Open the quick replies panel from your workspace navigation and add a new entry with three fields:

A quick reply is scoped to your organization, not to a single WhatsApp number or channel, so any reply you create is available across all your connected numbers.

Shared vs private replies

Every quick reply is either shared (visible to the whole workspace) or private (visible only to the person who created it).

Who you are Can create Can edit or delete a shared reply Can edit or delete their own private reply
Member Private replies only (a request to mark one shared is saved as private instead) No Yes
Admin Shared or private replies Yes Yes

Members see shared replies in their picker and management list as read-only, labelled as managed by the workspace's admins. This keeps one team library consistent while still letting individual agents keep their own shortcuts.

How do I insert a quick reply while chatting?

Place your cursor in the composer and type "/" at the start of an empty draft. A filter picker opens with the first matching reply highlighted. Keep typing to narrow the list, for example typing /de narrows to /delivery. Use the up and down arrow keys to move the highlight (it wraps at each end), and press Enter to insert the highlighted reply's body into the draft and close the picker. Nothing is sent at this point, the text simply sits in the composer until you press Enter again to send it deliberately. Press Escape at any time to close the picker without inserting anything.

If you type a "/" shortcut but nothing in the picker is highlighted, pressing Enter sends the literal text as typed rather than inserting a reply, so a genuine message starting with "/" still goes through.

You can also open the same picker from the "+" menu next to the composer by choosing "Quick replies", which is useful if you'd rather browse than type a shortcut from memory.

Is there a limit on how many I can create?

Quick replies are capped per workspace according to your plan, with an in-app upgrade path if you need more. Check current plan limits for details.
