Moving a lead through stages

Last updated: 16 July 2026

You change a lead's stage from its detail drawer on the CRM pipeline board: open the lead and select the new stage. The move is recorded on the lead's activity timeline immediately, showing which stage it moved to, from, and who made the change. Any team member can move a lead; you do not need admin access.

How do I move a lead?

Open the lead's detail drawer and pick a stage: intake, qualified, unqualified, rejected, or converted. The card moves to the corresponding column on the pipeline board right away.

What updates on the timeline?

Every stage change adds an entry to the lead's activity timeline, recorded alongside the lead's creation event and any notes. Each entry shows the stage transition and the person who made it, so the timeline is a full audit trail of how a lead moved through your pipeline.

What's the difference between qualified and converted?

Stage What it means
Qualified The lead is a genuine prospect worth pursuing. No extra data is required to mark a lead qualified.
Unqualified / Rejected The lead is not being pursued further.
Converted The deal closed. Moving a lead to converted requires you to enter a conversion value and currency, since Stravax Engage treats a converted lead as a closed-value outcome, not just a status label.

If you move a lead out of converted, its conversion value and currency are cleared, since they only apply while the lead is in that stage.

Does moving a lead affect anything else?

If your organization has Ad Sync enabled and a connected ad platform is mapped to that stage, a stage move can also report the outcome back to that platform as a conversion event. See What is a conversion event? for how that works. Within the CRM itself, a stage move only ever affects the lead record and its timeline.
